About Strong and Flexible & My Approach To Movement
If you're looking for a more personalised approach to movement, rehabilitation and performance, you probably want to understand not just what I do, but why I do it.
Strong and Flexible was built around the belief that every person moves differently, learns differently and responds differently to rehabilitation. Rather than applying the same approach to everyone, I focus on understanding how your body moves as an individual and helping you develop more efficient, confident and resilient movement strategies.
Whether you're dealing with recurring injuries, persistent discomfort, movement limitations or simply looking to improve physical performance, my goal is to help you better understand your body and move with greater confidence.

My Philosophy, A Search For Answers
My approach is born from necessity.
Before becoming a movement coach and rehabilitation specialist, I spent years pushing my body through demanding physical pursuits. I competed in skydiving, served in the military as a paratrooper, trained in martial arts, climbed, ran ultra-marathons and, like many highly active people, accumulated more than my fair share of injuries along the way.
As I moved through different rehabilitation systems, I became increasingly frustrated by what I was seeing. Many approaches seemed focused on managing symptoms rather than understanding why the problem existed in the first place.
That frustration sparked a long-term search for better answers.
I immersed myself in different disciplines, studying Pilates, Osteopathic techniques, Yoga and Clinical Massage while continually searching for a deeper understanding of movement and recovery.
Eventually, I discovered Anatomy in Motion (AiM), a methodology developed by Gary Ward that transformed the way I viewed human movement. It helped me understand that the root cause of many issues may not be where symptoms appear. Instead, the answer often lies in how the body moves as a connected system, starting with the feet and gait mechanics.
That discovery continues to shape the way I work today.
Why Strong And Flexible Exists
The Gap In The Industry
I created Strong and Flexible because the rehab and fitness industry is trapped in silos. You will find manual therapists, osteopaths, and chiropractors with amazing palpation skills who don't have a clue about dynamic movement mechanics. You will find excellent Pilates or yoga teachers who don't understand heavy strength training, load management, or endurance. And you have high-level S&C or grappling coaches who don't understand joint biomechanics.
Strong and Flexible exists to combine all of these disciplines. I bridge the gap between deep biomechanics, manual therapy, and heavy strength and conditioning.
My Personal Story, The 'Why'
If you look at me today, at 46 years old, doing splits, backbends, and handstands, and regularly sparring in MMA and BJJ with guys half my age, people assume I was born with an elite athletic background. The truth is the exact opposite.
I was an undiagnosed autistic and ADHD kid. I was fussy, highly sensitive, constantly injured, and always in pain. Because of my hypermobility, I was constantly spraining my ankles. I was not a natural athlete. But despite my perceived genetic disadvantages, I had an obsessive curiosity about how the human body works and how it heals.
Instead of accepting a life of pain, I reverse-engineered my own body. I developed deep proprioception and mechanical awareness to turn my disadvantages into an advantage. That curiosity allowed me to become a paratrooper in an elite Polish airborne unit, logging over 500 jumps. It allowed me to rock climb, run ultramarathons, and now train MMA. I am literally getting better and more capable as I age.
I built Strong and Flexible to teach people the exact same thing: how to become fiercely aware of their own body, rewire their mechanics, and realize that a perceived physical disadvantage is just a problem waiting to be solved.
What I Do & Who I Help
I provide one-to-one movement sessions that combine biomechanics, gait analysis, Anatomy in Motion (AiM), movement coaching, rehabilitation principles and modern strength and conditioning methods.
- Professionals working in the City of London
- Athletes and active individuals
- Endurance athletes
- Strength athletes
- Hypermobile individuals
- Neurodivergent clients
- People experiencing recurring injuries or persistent movement challenges
Some clients are looking to improve performance. Others want to better understand recurring issues that have not responded to previous approaches.
Whatever your starting point, my aim is to help you build more efficient movement strategies that support long-term resilience, confidence and physical capability.
View ServicesA Different Way Of Looking At Movement
One of the biggest lessons I learned throughout my own journey is that movement cannot always be reduced to a checklist of exercises or a standard protocol.
Every individual has their own movement history, compensations, habits and physical experiences.
This is why I focus on helping clients understand how their body moves rather than simply telling them what exercises to perform.
My approach integrates:
- Biomechanics
- Gait Analysis
- Anatomy in Motion (AiM)
- Movement Coaching
- Neuromuscular Re-Education
- Strength & Conditioning Principles
- Progressive Loading Strategies
- Tactile Cueing
- Sports & Remedial Massage Therapy
Rather than generic workouts, I provide a detailed analysis of how your body moves and responds to load, helping you develop movement strategies that are appropriate for your individual needs and goals.
The Biggest Misconception
The most dangerous misconception in the fitness and rehab industry is confusing interoception with proprioception. People assume that because they can intensely 'feel' their body, they have good body awareness. They are completely wrong.
These two senses operate on entirely different neural pathways. Interoception is your ability to feel internal sensations, like a deep stretch or muscle fatigue. Proprioception is your mechanical awareness of where your body is in three-dimensional space, such as exactly where your weight is distributed over your feet.
I see this constantly with highly sensitive individuals, hypermobile clients, dancers, and even very experienced yoga teachers. They chase extreme stretches to 'connect with their body' because they are highly interoceptive. They feel a lot, so they think they have elite body awareness. But if you ask them to stand still and tell you if their center of mass is shifted over their right heel or their left toes, they have absolutely no idea. They are mechanically blind, but because they feel sensations so strongly, they think they can see.
I spend most of my time explaining that just because you feel your body doesn't mean you have awareness of it in space. True proprioception is a mechanical skill. It requires training your brain to feel weight distribution and joint position, not just chasing the sensation of a stretched muscle.

The Clients I Most Enjoy Helping
Who I Am Most Passionate About Helping
I am most passionate about working with curious, ambitious, and highly committed individuals. The severity of their past injuries doesn't deter me, in fact, the more complex the history, the better. True rehabilitation is teamwork. I get excited when a client is open-minded enough to finally feel what optimal mechanics actually are. When they experience that moment of feeling their foot flatten, their knee bend, and their upper back extend simultaneously just to shift their weight efficiently, that is when real change happens.
My Most Meaningful Success Story
My most meaningful success story isn't a professional athlete; it’s a 73-year-old retired teacher. She came to me initially because she was diagnosed with near end-stage knee osteoarthritis and wanted to avoid a total knee replacement. After two years of consistent, committed teamwork and finding the exact right entry point for her mechanics, she is now executing 20kg Jefferson Curls for sets of 10. She routinely performs split squats, back extensions, and reverse hypers, movements most people half her age are terrified to attempt. We rarely reach the true limits of our physical capacity because we don't know how to systematically find them. With the right progression and commitment, the human body is incredibly adaptable.
Based In The Heart Of The City Of London
Located near Liverpool Street Station, I regularly work with clients from:
- City of London
- Spitalfields
- Islington
- Clerkenwell
- Shoreditch
The studio is particularly convenient for professionals working in the City, as well as athletes and active individuals travelling from across London.
